Our mills are capable of continues or intermittent cuts to create keyways in shafts, tubes or pipes of any length. The cutting principles used are industry standard milling heads operating within normal cutting speed ranges; the material handling aspect of our machines is what makes them unique.
TEC is capable of providing you with either manually loaded machines or machines with fully automated material handling systems including automatic part queuing systems and machine load and unload automation.
By milling long keyways, you have the flexibility of milling keys into long lengths of raw stock before cutting to length, thus eliminating the load and unload of large quantities of small parts. Our mills work with round stock, a variety of geometric shapes and tubes and pipes.
Typical applications include in-process gauging for continuous monitoring and control of depth of cut and deburring for a clean finish.
