Using robots, TEC has opened up new possibilities when inspecting partially assembled or finished products. Often combined with vision and sensors, robots allow us to gain access to areas through the manipulation of the parts around sensors or by carrying the sensors into and out of the parts.
Fixed automation or hard tooled inspection stations do not allow you to easily access, probe and inspect internal details in the manner that we do with robots.
Need a probe to locate a detail?
Take a measurement of a finished dimension without contact?
Measure the temperature of a part from an exact distance?
Robotic inspection is the answer.
Other inspection possibilities
- Leak checking with phosphorescent material and robotic manipulation around an inspection tree
- Multiple robots, each with one type probe or gauge, ‘attacking’ the part from multiple angles at once
- Using one robot to handle the part while another carries the inspection tool
